*COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DFKDC*
Dear DFKDC friends, family, and supporters:
We hope this note finds you and all of your loved ones safe and healthy.
First, thank you to all of the parents who responded to our survey regarding your comfort with future programming. Our Board of Directors considered your feedback, along with that of our partners and sponsors, to decide how we move forward with our programming.
After assessing the health and safety measures we can put in place, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our water sports clinic for this year. We continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community and are committed to providing regular updates about future programs. While we believe this is the best decision for water sports, we will assess each scheduled program to determine whether an in-person format is a possibility.
Additionally, we will continue to offer weekly DFKDC Digital clinics. Since the pandemic started, we offered 23 virtual clinics—one highlight being our prom in May where 30 participants and volunteers danced the night away with us. Please visit our website dreamsforkidsdc.org for more information about our upcoming events.
We welcome your suggestions for future virtual programs and look forward to seeing you soon. Take care, be safe, and thank you for your ongoing support.
When it comes to creating unforgettable experiences for children with special needs, one fact remains true: lives just won’t change without the help of our volunteers. Dreams For Kids DC is unique because we offer a 1:1 participant-to-volunteer ratio for our programs to ensure each child receives the attention they deserve. Volunteer individually or with a group to spend a day changing a life (and you never know — it may just change yours too!)
"These are the things that really make our job special.
All the kids are excited to us, but we are equally exited to see them"
