Marissa Trubatch received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Kent State University in May of 2021. Her concentration within her bachelors was child and youth development. This prepared her to work with children and adolescents in a non-school setting while promoting positive development cross-culturally. Marissa also received a minor in Nonprofit Studies which taught her advocacy, grant writing, board development, partnerships, and program planning. Marissa was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. While in Ohio, she found her passion for advocacy and mentoring. Marissa worked with adolescents of various backgrounds and abilities through The Lebron James Family Foundation, and her university’s diversity, outreach, and development office. Her devotion to helping and supporting others is what motivates the work she does every day. Through her experiences and work, she has found that change begins with one person. Within Dreams For Kids DC, Marissa hopes to create inclusive programs that allow for a safe and positive environment where change can be made and sustained.
